The House where the river flows — a villa on the Nerl River
The project is the winner of the "Low-rise Standard, Digital Transformation 2025/2026" competition. It is a villa located on the banks of the Nerl River in the Vladimir region. This is a balanced and well-designed ensemble that meets the high requirements for modern suburban housing. It combines functionality and aesthetic expression, offering both privacy in private areas and ample space for family gatherings with the backdrop of the natural landscape.
Not only is the architecture of the house well-thought-out, but so is the layout of the entire property. The site includes:
- a residential house
- a greenhouse with a two-car carport
- a barn with a poultry house and a carport for motor vehicles
- a separate workshop for woodworking
- a guest house
- a sauna
- a wild garden
The site is prone to flooding from the north, which required extensive landscaping and coastal fortification.
The main entrance is located on the east side, where there is a guest parking area, a carport, and a greenhouse. The outbuildings (barn and workshop) and the guest house are located in the southern part of the site, while the sauna is located in the northwest corner.
The interior of the house is designed for the scenarios of family life. Through the main porch we enter a spacious entrance hall, from where a guest bathroom, a storage room, a heat generator room are accessible, and through the dressing room there is a garage. The center of the first floor is a hall with stairs to the second floor. It offers a bright kitchen-living-dining room combined with a glazed veranda (barbecue and fireplace). Next to it is an isolated study, the hostess's room with its own laundry room and the master bedroom with a spacious wardrobe, bathroom and private terrace. The second floor is completely dedicated to bedrooms: three comfortable bedrooms.
