The Wright Residence—a modern prairie near Noginsk
<p>This contemporary villa reinterprets the Prairie style with a modern twist. Rather than relying on the traditional combination of wood cladding and anthracite-gray panels, the design introduces flexible ceramic facades that lend a sculptural, expressive quality to the exterior.</p>
The home's expansive, horizontal layout is achieved by linking the main residence to a spa complex and a projecting carport/garage via a continuous terrace. The composition unfolds across three levels, with its vertical rhythm established by columns, doors, and windows. Stepped soffits add visual lightness to the deep overhangs. To underscore the contemporary nature of the complex geometry, the facades are organized as a clean grid system, featuring a simplified outer frame and minimalist panel infill.
The interior features four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a chef's kitchen, a laundry room, and a bright, open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. A double-height ceiling and an adjacent lounge create a dynamic interplay of volumes. Panoramic views of the surrounding landscape are visible from nearly every room.
The building is built using a monolithic reinforced concrete frame infilled with aerated concrete blocks. Facade cladding combines flexible ceramic panels, wood planks, and a metal louver system. The eaves and double standing-seam roof are seamlessly integrated into a cohesive design.
